What’s in a Name?

When Brian Parsons and Bryan Nelson founded Yori Construction, they wanted a name that was more than just a label, they wanted something that truly represented who they are and how they work.

With two founders named Brian (yes, really), but spelled differently — one with a “Y” and one with an “I” — the playful debate over whose spelling was “right” became a running joke. Eventually, that inside joke turned into inspiration. Put the “Y” or “I” together, and you get Yori, a made-up word with real meaning.

Yori is a name that represents balance, teamwork, and the spirit of collaboration. It’s not about one person, it’s about all of us. The crew, the client, the vision. Everyone gets a seat at the table.

We love that Yori feels fresh and timeless, just like the kind of work we aim to deliver. And while we take our projects seriously, we keep our meetings casual, our conversations real, and our culture grounded. That’s just how we do things here.

So whether you spell it with a Y or an I, we’re glad you’re here, and we can’t wait to build something great together.
